We have so many great ones locally from Oregon/The Columbia Valley and then from California that I must admit I have probably gotten a bit stuck in US wines. I've tried a few Italian wines (but never whites!) and a handful from Chili and even Australia, but again, never whites! So, I really need to broaden my horizons! It helps immensely to have someone recommend some of their favorites, don't you think? Then you don't have to take such a hope-shot!

When you go to my website be sure to click on Buy Candles, that will take you to the page where all the fragrance descriptions are. You won't be able to have anything shipped to the UK from there, but depending on the ship rate, you might consider having me ship directly to you. I'll check into the rates and may be able to give you a discount on the price of the candles to help compensate for the cost of shipping. Let me kn...    less

    Hi there,

Thanks for the message! It does frustrate me when people turn their noses up at white wine. Things like a good white burgundy are thick, oily and have legs that climb all over the glass. So does a good Chablis. My main love is Italian whites – a top end Gavi or a good Fiano are stunning – and very well priced. Sancerre is pretty good too ;o). I have also had some amazing whites from Chile….really stunning.

I also love candles and when i'm away from worki will check your website out, although shipping to the UK will be a bit scary!!!! i've got loads dotted about the place. You can't beat a soak in the bath with candles lit, a glass of wine and a good book!!!

    Looking forward to chatting soon

    Hey Michael!

Thanks for your friendship. Ya, I'm willing to fess up, being right behind you senior year 1980, lol! I was first introduced to "wine" drinking Strawberry Boons Farm that year. YUK! But, I too progressed, hehehe! I also now prefer a really spicy, dry red zin or other delicious red. Though I do enjoy a really great white occasionally, as well.

Your business sounds really interesting and it sounds like you enjoy your work. I will check out your photos.

Please feel free to stop by my site if you enjoy all-natural, gourmet scented candles, too! www.yourgourmetcandleshop.com

I look forward to getting to know you better.

    Have an amazing day!

    Hi Tanya,

Thanks for your friendship. Ok, I also enjoy a good white, lol! But I must admit, my first love IS a really spicy, dry red! However, I agree with you that a balance is nice and there really ARE some amazing whites...though I just don't think people are exposed to them as often because, as you say, the reds are really getting all the attention these days! I was happy to read that you especially love the "heavy, complex" whites. That spoke volumes, lol! Do make some recommendations as I would love to try some more truly great whites!

Looking forward to getting to know you better, Hun!

    Hello Harry!

Thank you for your friendship! You sound like a very interesting fellow and I very much look forward to getting to know you better! I'd love to help you learn more about American wines! I live in one of the BEST American wine producing areas...Portland, Oregon/The Columbia Valley! So, though I am no wine expert, I absolutely adore truly great wine and could recommend at least a handful of our favorites! I will definitely check out some that you mention. Your cellar sounds fabulous! Any reasonably priced amazing wines you care to recommend would be much appreciated as I really detest basing my choice on the information on the label! LOL!

    Have an amazing day!

    Hey Louis,

Sounds like a very intriguing concept you've got going there. I will definitely keep an eye on you! I am drooling over your property and all the amazing fruit growing there. We own 20 acres in Oregon's High Desert and our goal is to retire there to an off-grid lifestyle. But none of the fruit trees and plants you mention will grow (out doors) there. All of our produce will have to be grown in a green house. So, I am very envious! Good luck with your plans and please do keep me posted!

Oh, and if you like all-natural, gourmet scented candles please do check me out: www.yourgourmetcandleshop.com

Thank you for the friend request.

  • About Me I am a wine lover not a snob. I know what I love. And I thoroughly enjoy a genuinely delicious wine regardless what it is paired with. My favorite notes would be berry, chocolate, pepper, cherry, plum. In a dry red, of course. But I also enjoy a well developed white with oak, apricot, pineapple, citrus and smoke.

In addition to loving amazing wines I also really dig international travel with my best friend and husband, Jeff, who is a self-employed software engineer.

I have an all-natural, gourmet scented candle business. If you are a very sensory person, as I am, you will love these candles! They are soot-free, biodegradable, double wicked, wash up with hot soapy water and triple scented in over 100 fragrances! Do check out my site at: http://www.yourgourmetcandleshop.com

I welcome your friendship so please don't be shy!

    Big Blessings,

    ~tracy
