NorthwestWonders: I am envious of your life in Portland. I lived there for six months last year and can't wait to get back! I'm in SE WA now, but will be dividing my time between there and here hopefully starting next spring.

Oh, my dear new friend, you must start exploring the Oregon Pinots. Not sure how availabe NW wines are there, but Oregon produces really amazing Pinots. My first glass of 2002 Ponzi Reserve is what turned me into a wine lover. It changed my life. The OR pinots rival those from France. If you can find it, Sineann is a small producer here in OR that puts out an amazing bottle. Also, I love St Innocent. Cheers!

SanguineBlues: I'm in Rochester, Wa. -- 88 miles from the Oregon/Washington border. It's a rural community south of Olympia -- mostly 5 acre parcels, lots of horses and pick up trucks. Everytime I go to Portland, I come home ready to pack and move!
