My wife and I live there and I am the winemaker. We came here in June of last year. I would love to have you taste some of our new wines as well. Any interest? Next time you are going to be at Tarara let me know in advance so I can some and say hi. We could also do some barrel tastings or try some different wines. I am glad you enjoyed the wines. I only wish there was more Syrah, well, maybe soon. We decided to leave the 2008 eight in barrel for a long time, trying to take the Guigal LA LA wines as a benchmark and looking at about 36 months in oak. The 2009 is going into barrel today and we will likely have two levels, one like the one you tried and one with the extra time in barrel. Very exciting. I hope all is going well with you.  less

We have been locked in our cave for the better part of the last 3 and a half months for harvest. Anyway, likelihood is the best one they will have at Total is the Cabernet Franc. If they have the 2007 Pinot Gris or Viognier (particularily the Viognier) then go with that. It will also be cheaper there then here probably. Anyway, to really try our best wines your best bet is to come and visit the winery. You can make a day a visiting wineries around here, there are some great ones. If you would like feel free to ask for me if you come here. My wife and I live on site. Hope this helps and I hope you enjoy some Tarara Wine. Thanks for the interest and I hope to meet you here in the future.  less

    Hi Suzi,

I just invited RyE to come out as well. Maybe if we get organized we could have a little get together here at Tarara and I could show both of you around the site (tons here) and try the wines. My wife and I live here so anytime really works, weekends are always the most fun though. Two weekends from now (17-18th i believe) we have a festival here that should be a lot of fun and we are releasing our Pinot Gris and Viognier 07's which I think are awesome, and yes I am also biased. If you want let me know anytime you want to come out and I can sort out something, or as I said maybe RyE (Ryan), you and I (and signifcant others) could sit around and enjoy all sorts vino. Hope to here from you soon.  less

Canada is producing some very nice wines recently. It is generally split into 2 main Provinces, B.C. and Ontario (but others are coming into their own), and then again into several smaller appellations.
In Ontario there is Pelee island, The Niagra peninsula, Lake Earie North Shore, and Prince Edward County
In B.C. There is Vancouver island, the Okanagan Valley, the Frasier Valley, the Similkameen Valley, and The gulf Islands.
