A global travelogue about wine and food, hosted by me, Deborah Gee, the Toasted Hostess. The goal of the Corkscrew Diary is to embrace a wine-curious public with a non-pretentious window to the enjoyment of wine and the whole wine world. Though the primary focus is to be on the vineyards with the winemakers, while not traveling we have been creating vlogs featuring wine and food pairings from "the world headquarters" here in Nashville.
The vlogs are pure "advertainment" - covering all varietals, yet featuring very specific to brands.

We would like to have an opportunity to discuss your options to advertise and the potential for "Spotlighting" your efforts.

  • Southern Oregon Wines: Won't be a Secret Much Longer!

    Posted April 12, 2009

Great peice on Southern Oregon wines (even delves into terroir) in the March Sommelier Journal, written by Randy Caparoso.  Check it out! http://www.sommelierjournal.com/articles/article.aspx?year=2009&month=03&articlenum=52 And he is indeed correct: Southern Oregon is the real deal!

  • Festival Festivities

    Posted March 15, 2009

Many many many years ago I went to a fundraiser for the Arthritis Foundation in San Francisco.  There were 60-something Napa and Sonoma wineries in attendance plus a killer silent auction – a dream afternoon, right?  The food options, however, were limited – lots of fruit (and yuck-o, frui...

  • Syrah: Sexy and Seductive? Or Sybil?

    Posted February 27, 2009

Last year I had a self proclaimed wine snob in our Volcano Vineyards Tasting Lounge who snorted when I told him our 2004 Syrah was a “cool climate” Syrah.  He dismissed me as “spinning” the marketing on our wine.  He was obviously an idiot, as that wine won a double gold medal at the Wine ...

  • Get Outta My Bunk!

    Posted February 13, 2009

Let’s debunk some myths right off the bat (and don’t you love that word “debunk” - like you are kicking someone out of your bed…) Myth #1: Wine people are snotty. I admit some wine people are snotty, although you will find that the snotty ones usually aren’t in the industry and they tend to get mo...

  • January 2009 Wine Picks for Cascade Arts & Entertainment Magazine

    Posted January 14, 2009

Yes, it is true, Volcano Vineyards wine is sublime, it really is the best wine you will ever drink.  And during 2008 we found that most folks agreed with us, so in the Tasting Lounge we severely scaled back the wines we offered from other small producers.  But I have to admit that after dr...
