I would have to say what really got me started in the wine world first the wine world came with my career with Starbucks. Ten years ago when I started
working for Starbucks we were taught how to taste. Over time I learned
how to taste many different components in a single cup of coffee or tea that to many all taste the same. Over time I got really good at doing coffee and tea tasting, so when a opportunity came along to start working at Sugarloaf Mountain vineyard part-time I took it.
over time I worked my way up in the company and went full time at the vineyard and switching Starbucks to Part-time. After a while at being at SMV Winery I decided I wanted more. I wanted to learn more. I wanted to learn as much as I could about wine. So I started
taking wine certification programs with Wine Spectator. Then I wanted to work on be coming a Master Sommelier and took the first out of four levels to becoming a Master Sommelier. I have also taken the second level of the WSET with the Wine & Spirit Education trust and my next step is to become a Ceritifed Specialist of Wine (CSW) with the Society of Wine Educators.
Quite often a good wine is a great wine when paired with the right food. Some food and wine pairings are quite obvious where as others are often illusive. Are you planning a dinner and want to see what wine would go best with it? Have you had a great meal that was perfectly paired with a wine? Please share it so we can all enjoy the wine pairing.
Welcome to the Virtual Wine Tasting Club. Every month in our online wine tasting series we will taste a different wine and post our tasting notes. In advance, if possible, please post the wine you will be trying that fits the tasting. The tasting will last one month so you can taste and post your notes in that time frame. Please ask questions about the wine we're tasting, post recommendations for future wine tastings and make this online wine tasting group a wonderful, interactive, informative wine discussion.
This group is for everyone. Check in here to meet one another, talk about your favorite wine, restaurants, outings, travels, and/or just get to know the others who belong to Must Love Wine. We already know we have one thing in common, we all love wine.
Here are few things that bridge gaps between cultures more than a good glass of wine. And vineyards are a featured highlight in many countries – they’re always on my travel itineraries. Here are a few of the best choices for some of the world’s most beautiful vineyards.
