I am a Londoner by birth but now live 40 minutes west of Paddington in Berkshire. I agree that what wine you can't find in London you'll be hard pressed to find in any other international market place. What would be your tip for best wine bar wine list in London?

We weren't sure as to how it would be received either. We might get some more next year but for now M&S do a very good drop from Argentina which is extremely good value (about 6 quid if I remember rightly).

CEPalmer → ToastedHostess: Hi there! Saw your post re the sparkly stuff. You might want to try and track down some Loire Valley Carmin Rouge (Langlois is an excellent producer if you can find it). SOunds as though is might be right up your street.

SlightlyPotty: Charles, It's a terrific wine but if you have any more, don't drink it for another 10 years (I guess). I think it will get better and better. The 2003 and 2004 are wonderful too, though I think the 2003 is drinkable now.

    Thanks for the tip.

  • A Vessel for Change (Warning, more story than blog - v. long!)

    Posted September 27, 2008

It was half eight again and, as usual. I was staring out of the window into a cold north London night whilst another, seemingly disconnected part of myself spoke urgently to a shipping line employee as if on auto-pilot. "I should be used to this by now," I thought, still yapping away perfunctorily t...

Welcome to the Virtual Wine Tasting Club. Every month in our online wine tasting series we will taste a different wine and post our tasting notes. In advance, if possible, please post the wine you will be trying that fits the tasting. The tasting will last one month so you can taste and post your notes in that time frame. Please ask questions about the wine we're tasting, post recommendations for future wine tastings and make this online wine tasting group a wonderful, interactive, informative wine discussion.
