2003 La Chablisienne Chablis Premier Cru

  2003 La Chablisienne Chablis Premier Cru Mont di Mileu Chablis
  
  I was browsing through the local wine store and for some reason it is rare to see a true Chablis in these parts so I picked this out to give it a try. It is pale golden yellow in color with honey, floral and flint on the nose. In the mouth the wine has good weight, ripe honeyed fruit, a bit of marzipan with full acidity and mineral Chablis character. This wine has excellent ageing potential and is a delight to drink now. Shellfish and white fish will pair well with this Chablis.

  That has to be so much better than the generic mislabeled jugs of "Chablis" that was all the rage in the 80s.

  Yes, La Chablisienne is a great cooperative that is owned by hundreds of local producers and it makes wonderful wine! It is not Chablis' very best but always very, very good.
