CONCLUSION/BALANCE: Too much oak makes this wine far too dry.
Concerning the grape, this wine is fairly a-typical. Yes, it has the typical blackberry smell and taste of the Cabernet Sauvignon, but the beautiful, complex sweetness of the grape is masked by far too much wood.
FOOD PAIRING: Steak I suppose, but I'm not a real meat-eater.
Conclusion: this is NOT a wine that I would drink again. I am really glad I found a promising Bordeaux Cru Bourgeois with 80% Cabernet Sauvignon for the virtual Cabernet Sauvignon tasting. Those are my wines, not this South-American crap.
Of course it's drinkable, but yes, you need food. Yes, food saves it somewhat.
Points: low 80's.
