Hey group: I'm in for Chenin... some suggestions for those out there who may be unfamiliar with the grape: Chenin Blanc's home is the Loire Valley in France. There you will find the best examples of the classic grape in everything from a bone dry, high-acid style to demi-sec and late-harvest styles. You can also find some Chenin's made in Vouvray as a sparkling (Cremant) wine if you want to throw in a curve ball (and if you can find one!) However you don't need to focus on France if you don't want to - South Africa produces a lot of really excellent Chenin (sometimes still labeled as "Steen") and there are also some great CB's coming out of Washington State as well - particularly from L'Ecole No. 41 (winery.)
Hope that gives everyone who wants to participate a good geographical range to work with from your local retailer.
Me? I am going to crack a 1991 Coulee de Serant that has been staring at me for quite some time now. It isn't close to being ready but what the heck - it's R and D time to see where it is in its evolution ;)
Cheers,
Larry
