  Thanks, Larry - I will add "Wine & War" to my shelf. Lately, I have mostly been focusing on the CSW reading materials, from the Society of Wine Educators. There is a study manual for the exam, and an online study guide.

  I just ordered French Wine for Dummies. Hopefully it will be hear Tuesday (if it is in stock at the BN warehouse which is here in town). I'll let you know how it is. I am also going to order the Oxford Companion for Wine, World Atlas of Wine and Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia too.
  
  The House of Mondavi is supposed to be a good read but I have not read it.

  I have 'House of Mondavi' but haven't read it yet. I love the title: 'The Rise and Fall of an American Wine Dynasty'. I'd love to 'fall' like that any day. ;)

  Some recent reads worth reading:
  
  Educating peter by Lettie Teague - Lettie (exec wine editor at Food & Wine) teaches Peter Travers (film critic for Rolling Stone Mag) how to taste wine. Well written and very informative.
  
  Windows On The World Complete Wine Course by Kevin Zraly - A great in depth book that explores all the wines of the world and gives recommendations on which to try.
  
  Next read is Wine At Your Fingertips which Jennifer Frank (her profile on MLW is jdfvino) wrote.

  Well, I started reading "Prolegomena to Any Future Metaphysics" by Immanuel Kant...but it was a little fruit forward....so I switched to Ian McEwan's "Amsterdam"...but that was a little dry...so I've settled on a classic "Perfect Pairings"..by Evan Goldstein (sommelier) with recipes by his wife Joyce Goldstein (chef)...and have stolen a recipe for Butternut Squash Risotto with Gorganzola...which I tell my friends is mine...

  A now-defunct restaurant in town used to make the most wonderful butternut puree with gorganzola. This may just make up for its unavailability - thanks!

  I am reading Red, White & Drunk All Over by Natalie MacLean. Very entertaining and informative. She keeps it real.
