Best program for wine education????

  What are your opinions on the best wine education program available today (wset, swe, etc..)? Who offers the most reconized program? Who offers the best value program? Also any addtional input about careers in wine.

  Rye, I think at a global level, the WSET would be the more recognisable wine qualification. Having worked in export, I know that in the UK, Europe, Middle East, etc, having a WSET qualification is becoming a prerequisite. I know I would certainly love to do it, it just isn't easy in Australia. There aren't many providers here.

  The WSET is still the gold standard for anyone working outside of Restaurants, even the Master Sommelier course is only considered as an equivalency for entrance on to the Master of Wine program, and even then they advise taking the Diploma level to familiarize yourself with the exam format before attempting the Master of Wine.
  It is already an industry standard in a lot of markets as far as qualifications go, and all the equivalency exams, such as the Society of Wine Educators programs, are just that equivalents. Go straight to the source and take the WSET.
