The Les Pierres Chardonnay from Sonoma-Cutrer in Windsor, California pours out pale gold in color with good clarity. On the nose aromas of butter, oak, some citrus and pear. In the mouth buttery flavors with some nuttiness, tropical fruit, pear, apple and vanilla. Very rich in the mouth but does show good acidity to prevent the wine from being too flabby. Pretty long finish. A good Chardonnay in the $30 - $40 price range that has a lot of competition. Drink now as, to me, this wine tastes like it is peaking or slightly past its peak.
