The Le Clos du Caillou Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Safres is a fantastic wine that pours out a deep, ruby red with a brilliant red rim. On the nose there is a good deal of ripe cherry, cranberry and hints of chocolate. Lovely flavors of almost jammy red and black fruit with subtle cocoa in the mouth. Just the tiniest sweetness to it. Elegant and refined in the mouth with silky tannins. On the long finish the fruit is very present, showing itself off. A lovely wine that I truly enjoyed. 95% Grenache. This wine is normally $59.95 and was on sale for $33.99.
