Category: Wine Review

This old vine Chateauneuf-du-Pape from Domaine La Milliere pours out a lovely garnet red in color with wonderful clarity. Red fruit, kirsch, mineral and a little smoke on a vibrant nose. In the mouth this wine seems to have many different layers all beautifully integrated. Very nice fruit in the mouth (raspberry, cherry and plum), fine tannins. Medium bodied. An exquisite finish that does not seem to end. While being very young this Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine is also very drinkable but will age beautifully over the next 10+ years. This wine delivers and lives up to its high ratings (Robert Parker 94 pts., Stephen Tanzer 93 pts.).
