The Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz from Mollydooker in McLaren Vale, South Australia pours out an inky, dark crimson in color and is opaque. On the nose vibrant notes of blueberry, plum, blackberry, black currant with hints of spice and some bacon fat. Very rich in the mouth with a chewy mouthfeel. Tons of jammy blueberry, black cherry and blackberry with some peppery spice and a little licorice. Integrated tannins. Medium to full bodied fruit bomb. Very extracted. Excellent finish full of fruit. $49.99 for a 750ml bottle.
Notes: Decanted for two hours and vigorously shaken in the decanter initially to release the nitrogen used in bottling. You can do the "Mollydooker Shake" in the bottle if you wish.
